Bodywork for the Soul

Hi, I’m Aspen. I have been a licensed massage therapist for 4 years, and I also create art in my spare time. My passion and drive for this career have always been rooted in a deep curiosity about healing. Not just a hurt shoulder or a tight hip. But a reconnection that has been borderline killed in most of us due to the systems we live in. A reconnection to our bodies, to our home, and to the land that endlessly gives. Real healing that helps you find ease inside of your body, not trying to escape it.

When humans destroy Earth, they turn on their own body; this severing from nature is pivotal to why we have the neuroses that we do today. Severing from our great Ancestors leaves us ungrounded and scared. My goal throughout our time together is to bring the groundedness back through indigenous ideas, Traditional Chinese Medicine ideas, and classic massage therapy techniques.

I have found it hard to be in the wellness industry the past couple of years because this trillion-dollar business has done a lot of damage to how we view healing. Wellness is not about endless self-optimization, being the most productive, or an aesthetic. Real wellness is about medicine, about honoring the cycles of nature and thus the cycles that flow in you. It is about remembering what it is to be human, and seeing what our role is in this great mystery called life.

I also am not the gatekeeper of what medicine looks like; it is personal to everyone. I can only speak on my knowledge and humbly express that I have so much to learn; each patient I see, I learn something new, and it is a great honor.

This work is collaborative; I may ask you to do some breathwork on the table or give some instruction on what we are doing that day. You are not a passive receiver in this work but an active participant in your own healing and body. We will never do anything you do not consent to, and providing a safe sanctuary is always my top priority.

Thank you for listening to my soapbox, and I hope to see you on my table!
